Hymn
#188 Come, Come, Whoever You Are
Introduction
Prelude: Singing Bowl meditation
Welcome/ Announcements
Opening Words
Lighting the Chalice Flame (in unison):
In
these difficult times, let us look first to the response of love. In the midst
of challenge, may our chalice flame bear witness to the inherent worth and
dignity of every human being. In the midst of uncertainty, may our chalice be a
beacon of encouragement, that our values may guide our choices. Let us look
first to the response of love.

UU Florida SE Cluster Annual Meeting, Oct. 21 in Stuart
The UU Florida SE Cluster presents Annual Meeting 2017
Thinking – and Living – Outside the Bubble
with the Rev. Carlton Elliott Smith
Some of us have privilege due to our skin color. We move through life in a veritable “bubble“ that buffers us from the scars that others suffer on a daily basis. This “bubble“ feels like protection, yet it isolates us from deeper understanding and heartfelt relationships.
Join this dynamic session as we explore how to live “Outside the Bubble.“
Last month at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA, Rev. Smith stood for justice, linked arm in arm with Prof. Cornell West, UUA President Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray and several other UU ministers, staff and parishioners. The Rev. Carlton Elliott Smith is one of nine members of the Congregational Life Staff serving the UUA‘s Southern Region.

Donations for Puerto Rico
Message from Meagan Bell:
Today I am working with other local activist groups to collect donations for Puerto Rico.
As you may have seen on the news yesterday, a group of Palm Beach County locals with friends and family in Puerto Rico are collecting donations (list below) to airlift directly to those affected by Hurricane Maria. http://www.wpbf.com/ article/donations-collected- for-puerto-rico-in-wake-of- maria/12452132
Women's March WPB is one of the main organizers of the supply drive and I am collecting donations from our part of Palm Beach Co to contribute to the effort. All donations are going to the Greenacres Community Center and being sorted for transport.
Do you think anyone from the UU would be interested in donating? I am collecting donations through Wednesday to bring to the Greenacres Community Center. Donations can be dropped off at my house (leave on the carport) 549 Fairwind Drive, North Palm Beach, Fl 33408.
